Former MS Amlin CEO McKee to lead Cathedral Underwriting

Andrew McKee, the former CEO of MS Amlin Underwriting at Lloyd's, who left the company in December 2016, is set to join Cathedral Underwriting (CUL) as chief executive officer.

Lancashire's Lloyd's business Cathedral Underwriting said that his appointment is effective from June 26.

Prior to serving MS Amlin as CEO of its Lloyd’s business, McKee was the CEO of MSIG at Lloyd's, the international specialty arm of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group.

He has spent nearly two decades of his 30-year insurance career at Chubb Insurance in various senior underwriting positions, and prior to that at Sun Alliance in Bristol.

Alex Maloney, Lancashire Group CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew who brings to his new role as CEO of CUL long experience of managing a major Lloyd’s underwriting agency.

"He will lead that business and be a welcome addition to Lancashire’s executive management team. I would also like to thank Marion for holding the reins during the period of transition.”

The company said that Marion Madden will continue in her role as interim managing director of CUL, pending the commencement of McKee’s appointment.
