Gallagher UK names North sales director

Re/insurance broker Gallagher has appointed Kathryn Moon as sales director for the Midlands and Northern England, as well as Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In her new role, Moon will be responsible for Gallagher’s business development agenda for the region, which includes a diverse portfolio of clients, with specialist divisions including construction, charities, care and trade credit.

Moon has over 20 years’ insurance industry experience. She joined Gallagher in 2013 as deputy managing director of the Coventry office, before being appointed managing director in 2015.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Moon worked at Oval for 15 years, managing client relationships across industries including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, technology and IT.

Peter Matthews, managing director of the North, Gallagher’s UK retail division, said: “Kathryn’s appointment is a key milestone in helping us achieve both organic and inorganic growth in the Midlands, northern England and Scotland.

“Ensuring that we nurture and promote the talent, ambition and success of our people is a vital part of our long-term growth strategy. Kathryn’s commercial acumen, as well as her extensive knowledge and industry experience makes her a natural choice for this role, and we are delighted that she will continue to contribute to the division’s success in this new leadership position.”

Moon commented: “Having been part of Gallagher for a number of years, I’m delighted to be leading the sales drive in the North, building on the growth that the division has seen in the past few years. I look forward to working with the wider team to identify new opportunities and review our current offering to clients, as we look to win new business.”
