Guardian Life appoints CFO from Manulife

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers, has appointed Marc Costantini, formerly of Manulife Financial Corporation, as chief financial officer (CFO).

He succeeds Robert Broatch who is retiring from the company after serving as CFO for the past 12 years.

Costantini will report to Deanna Mulligan, Guardian’s president and chief executive officer.

Costantini most recently served as executive vice president of corporate development and strategy at Manulife and was a member of Manulife’s management committee. He was previously CFO of John Hancock and president of John Hancock Annuities.

Mulligan said: “We are pleased to welcome Marc to Guardian. His distinguished career in finance and general management will serve our company well as we continue to evolve to meet the changing demands of today’s customers.

“We thank Bob for his many valuable contributions to help maintain Guardian’s financial strength and competitive position over the past decade.”
