Hamilton recruits ex-Deloitte partner

Hamilton Insurance Group, the holding company of Bermuda-based property casualty reinsurer Hamilton Re, has appointed William Freda, formerly of Deloitte, to its board of directors.

Freda, former senior partner and vice chairman of Deloitte, will chair the board’s audit committee.

Freda concluded his career at Deloitte earlier this year, having worked for the firm for 40 years since his graduation from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

His senior positions at Deloitte included chairman of the risk committee and the audit committee of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu’s board of directors, managing partner of Deloitte’s US client initiatives, and regional managing partner of the Northeast, Deloitte’s largest US region.
