HIIG bolsters commercial property underwriting unit with senior hire

US-based Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG) has hired Jason Rollins to join its commercial property group as director of underwriting.

Rollins has 20 years of experience building profitable property books. He previously was the head property underwriter at International Mining Industry Underwriters (IMIU) in London and most recently was the head of energy and mining at GuideOne National Insurance Company.

Doug Davies, senior vice president, said: “We are excited to have Jason join our Commercial Property unit. The timing of his hire couldn’t be better as we look to advance our presence in the business.

“The addition of Jason will allow us to expand our resources within the Company to capture more of the opportunities available in the market. It also demonstrates our continued commitment to be a leader in this segment. We are excited to have Jason join our team.”

Rollins commented: “I couldn’t be happier to be joining the team at HIIG. Their Commercial Property business dovetails perfectly with my previous experience, while giving me a great chance to grow and contribute to a market leading business.”
