Insurtech Previsico appoints ex-RMS to support growth strategy

Previsico, a UK-based flood forecasting insurtech, has appointed  Matthew Grant as a board advisor to support expansion in the UK, US and increase its global footprint.

UK-based Previsico, which has recently launched in the US, specialises in modelling surface water flooding in real-time utilising the latest geospatial technology for weather predictions, in partnership with IBM, to deliver property-level flood nowcast and forecast warnings.

With 25 years’ insurance experience, Grant is a partner at InsTech London, where he supports data, analytics, and technology companies seeking to access and grow in the sector. Following 20 years at RMS as global head of sales and marketing he founded specialist consulting firm Abernite. Grant has also worked with CEOs and executive teams of many data and analytics companies serving the insurance market.

Previsico’s CEO Jonathan Jackson said: “Matthew’s deep connections, knowledge and experience in the insurance innovation space will be invaluable to Previsico, as we continue to grow in the UK, and increase our global footprint, including in the US and beyond.”

Grant commented: “Previsico provides a unique offering that fills a big gap in the flood forecasting market. They have already had some great traction here in the UK, aided by their current presence on the Lloyd’s Lab, and I greatly look forward to helping them build on this momentum here and in other markets.”
