Inzura introduces new digital insurance platform

Inzura, a digital insurance technology provider, has launched a digital insurance platform, which it claims will accelerate the digitalisation of the industry.

Inzura will offer insurers a range of mobile-centric products including smartphone telematics, photo recognition, and other digital technologies.

Inzura says it aims to change the way insurance is done by allowing policies to be built around real-time user data.

The platform includes a customer engagement app for motor insurance. The same technology can also be applied to personal lines including home, travel, pet and life.

It was founded in December 2015, following an extensive R&D programme, Inzura is active in the UK and markets in Asia, with multiple insurers, brokers and other clients already on board.

Richard Jelbert and Ian McWilliams are the co-founders. Jelbert is an insurance market technologist of the insurance telematics industry and was previously founder of MyDrive Solutions.

McWilliams has worked for a number of large global companies including Capgemini, Lucent and Motorola.

“We believe the smartphone will play a central role in the much-needed digitisation of insurance,” said Jelbert.

“As such, we have put customer engagement at the core of our smartphone apps, and we enable big data enrichment in the back end for analysis and pricing. This makes for a win-win situation for both insurers and their customers.

“We are already seeing real excitement among insurers at the possibilities here – at just how much their proposition can evolve without their legacy systems holding them back. Challenger brands and innovative insurers are moving quickly with us.”
