JLT Specialty appoints casualty head North America from Marsh
JLT Specialty, a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, has appointed Paul Woodward as head of North American casualty.
Woodward, who worked for JLT until 2011, joins from Marsh. Throughout his career he has specialised in providing casualty solutions for North American risks, most recently focussing on designing innovative solutions which effectively transfer US Fortune 500 company risks, construction risks and the emerging risk issues associated with the sharing economy and automation.
In his new role, Woodward will work closely with JLT’s global team to bring the flexibility of the European insurance marketplace to JLT’s portfolio of North American casualty clients. He will be based in London.
Tim Smith, chairman of JLT Construction, said: "We are delighted to welcome Paul back to JLT where his knowledge and experience will help us to continue delivering innovative risk transfer solutions which shape the insurance industry for both new and existing clients."
Richard Gurney, CEO of JLT Construction, added: "As we continue to build out our London capability to complement our emerging strength in the US, Paul is an excellent addition to the global JLT Construction team. We have identified casualty as providing some exciting opportunities for us to deepen our relationship with new and existing clients in the US and Canada and Paul is ideally suited to help us achieve those ambitions."
