Lloyd’s insurer Probitas draws Munich Re cyber specialist for market expansion

Lloyd’s insurer  Probitas 1492 has hired a senior  Munich Re executive as head of cyber strategy and innovation to further build out its cyber proposition in the market.

Ezeugo Aguta (Pictured) will spearhead the development of the syndicate’s technical capabilities through the establishment of Probitas Labs.

Probitas Labs will focus on three main areas: cyber research & development, including data analytics and market platforms; client & vendor services, which will help support clients before, during and after a breach; and thought leadership.

Probitas Labs aims to be the market’s centre of excellence for cyber, as well as a valuable tool for cyber specialists, policyholders and brokers. The goal is to continually generate fresh insights on risk analysis by developing products, services, and partnerships with industry experts to support and enhance cyber risk transfer within the market.

Aguta joins the syndicate after almost five years at reinsurer Munich Re, where he most recently served as senior cyber underwriter.

Aguta said: “I am excited to join Probitas, especially at this stage, to continue establishing our unique value proposition to the market.”

Richard Taylor, head of cyber & technology at Probitas, said: “It’s a great time to welcome Zugo to the team at Probitas, as there is an opportunity to build a Cyber proposition that gives back to the market whilst providing services insureds have been yearning for.”
