Lockton appoints Willis execs for new South Carolina practice

Insurance broker Lockton has appointed benefits advisors Marti Smith and Erin Sottile to join its newly-formed South Carolina employee benefits practice.

The duo will join Lockton on April 15, Smith as a producer responsible for new business development and advising clients on employee benefits strategies, and Sottile as an account executive in employee benefits, providing strategic advice and program implementation to clients on their health and welfare programs.

The company has announced its plan to open a new Greenville, South Carolina office, initially focused on advising clients on employee benefit programs.

Smith has over 20 years of experience in employee benefits, human resources and the financial services industry, most recently at Willis Towers Watson, where she served as senior vice president and leader of the human capital practice based in Greenville.

Sottile also joins from Willis Towers Watson's Greenville office, where she most recently served as senior client services specialist.

"Marti and Erin are both respected employee benefits professionals with diverse skills who help clients solve business challenges," said Doug Hutcherson, president of Lockton's Southeast operation. "They will be a great addition to our new office starting April 15 as we expand our operations into the Greenville region."
