Lockton Re snares from Willis as specialty build out continues

Lockton Re, the global reinsurance business of broker Lockton, has bolstered its specialty division with the hiring of a senior executive from  Willis.

Kazimierz Layton will join Lockton Re's specialty division later this year.

He has been in the political risk and credit insurance broking space for over 15 years, most recently as an executive director at Willis. Layton started his career in Aon’s crisis management team followed by time at JLT.

Paul Upton, head of speciality division at Lockton Re, said: “We continue to build our Specialty capability and Kaz is a great addition to our expanding team as we focus on offering exceptional client service with diverse expertise. We are purposefully building a challenger proposition in the financial risk treaty reinsurance broking sector and to be able to add such a high calibre associate will enhance our offering to LRS clients. The team and I are looking forward to combining Kaz’s risk expertise with our reinsurance capabilities to provide buyers with a long overdue alternative”.

Keith Harrison, CEO international at Lockton Re, added: “Lockton Re continues to attract colleagues with diverse and relevant experience who can provide our clients with broad and in-depth expertise in order to provide a different type of service and capability. I look forward to welcoming Kaz to the team later this year.”
