Markel hires Talbot underwriter for expansion in Asia Pacific
Specialty insurer Markel International, a subsidiary of the Markel Corporation, has hired a senior marine underwriter focusing on fine art and specie insurance from Talbot.
The appointment strengthens Markel’s local underwriting capability, continuing its expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Singapore, Janita Leu (pictured) will report to Markel Asia’s director Colin Fordham and work closely with the marine team, both in Asia Pacific and across the wider Markel business.
Leu has more than 20 years of underwriting experience and was previously the business development manager and marine underwriter at Talbot Risk Services.
