Markel lifts 10-year vet to polish North American claims tech

Specialist insurer  Markel International lifted a ten-year veteran to become chief operating officer of claims to oversee Markel’s entire North America claims operations.

Richie Henry (pictured) will take control over the full swathe of claims North American claims operations, including claims administration, data and analytics, claims vendor management, and transformation efforts while continuing to build partnerships in the segment.

Henry joined Markel in 2013 and most recently served as senior managing director and divisional CIO. He was also the managing director of the Markel specialty division, US and Bermuda claims, and global reinsurance, leading all technology for the divisions.

Markel chief claims officer Nick Conca commented: "Richie's extensive experience in both claims and technology will bring tremendous value to our Claims organization and our leadership team. We look forward to having him work with key business partners to continually improve Markel's effectiveness for our customers."
