Markel Singapore poaches financial lines underwriter from DUAL Asia
Markel International, the specialist insurer, has appointed a specialist financial lines underwriter in Singapore to strengthen the company’s financial lines product offerings in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Reporting to Simon Moi, head of professional and financial risks, Joe Wong will underwrite a range of financial lines products, including cyber, commercial D&O, professional indemnity, financial institutions, and financial technology.
Wong has significant experience in the insurance industry, including more than 10 years managing and developing financial lines underwriting in a number of Southeast Asian countries, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
Before joining Markel, he was an underwriting manager at DUAL Asia for cyber and Financial Lines. Prior to that, he was at Allied World Assurance and Chubb developing a professional liability division in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as other South Asia markets.
