McLarens expands in the UK

Global loss adjuster McLarens is expanding its offering in the UK’s Midlands with the opening of a new office in Nottingham, in addition to promotions in the region.

Paul Durham, who moves from the specialist adjuster’s Birmingham office to head up the Nottingham operation, has been appointed regional manager for the East Midlands and Anglia.

Durham joined McLarens in 2010 handling a wide range of commercial property and high net worth claims.

Birmingham’s Pat Dunworth has been promoted to regional manager for the West Midlands.

Dunworth joined McLarens in 2012 and has been handling major and complex, construction and engineering, business interruption and liability claims, as well as managing a number of significant accounts for housing associations and local authorities.

Both moves are in conjunction with the retirement of Andrew Dear who moves into a consultancy role with the adjuster after 10 years managing McLarens’ Midlands business.

Dear joined McLarens in 2008 and has been responsible for the development and growth of the Midlands team, whilst handling losses of the highest severity, complexity and sensitivity.

The Nottingham operation is McLarens’ 17th office in the UK and Ireland.

Graham Smart, managing director for UK and Europe, commented: “Such has been success of our Midlands team, that it was a natural step to expand our footprint in the region. Nottingham has a distinct and vibrant insurance market and is a city in which we are already very active. Both Paul and Pat are impressive, ambitious adjusters with long careers ahead of them and are well respected by local insurers and brokers. They’ve both worked closely with Andrew Dear in the development of our Midlands business and are natural successors in this respect. We’re delighted to retain Andrew in a consultancy capacity. His contribution to McLarens over the past decade has been highly valued and he will no doubt continue to contribute to the growth of our business.”
