McLarens strengthens presence in Asia

McLarens, a global loss adjuster specializing in complex, commercial and niche markets, has hired Stephen Toomer as managing director of McLarens Korea to further strengthen its presence in Asia.

Based in Seoul, Toomer will lead McLarens’ Korea adjuster team and manage day-to-day business operations reporting to the Asia regional managing director.

Toomer joins McLarens Korea from Sedgwick where he served as country manager in Colombia and deputy regional director for Latin America. He has over 18 years of expertise in a wide range of losses and classes of claims. His specialities include engineering, oil and gas, power generation as well as CAR/EAR, BI and liabilities.

“In Asia, McLarens has one of the largest adjuster networks and Stephen’s appointment in South Korea will strengthen our local capabilities.” said Chris Panes, chief operating officer, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

“I’m delighted to welcome Stephen to the region, where our primary focus remains on sophisticated and complex technical claims. He brings a unique perspective to this executive role, having worked and operated in several major overseas adjusting territories. As the only expatriate adjuster in South Korea, Stephen will be an invaluable asset to our clients locally, regionally and globally and add significant value by bridging the South Korean market with international reinsurance markets.”
