New claims committee created for LIIBA members

A new committee to focus on operational claims issues and initiatives in the London market has been formed by broker representative body the London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA).

The Claims Operations Liaison Group was launched last week and will be chaired initially by John Muir, Willis Towers Watson’s managing director of technical and operational practices. He will hold the role in an interim capacity until a chair is formally nominated.

The committee, which is open to all LIIBA member organisations, will report to LIIBA’s Operations Committee.

Jackie Hobbs, associate director at LIIBA said: “The decision to create this committee is indicative of the focus we’re placing on claims currently. It’s a core element of the Future@Lloyd’s plans and also market modernisation generally.

“The group will provide a platform for the Lloyd’s broking community to promote claims efficiency and service improvements. It will also provide claims expertise and advice to LIIBA’s board and other committees.”

Members of the committee will be operational claims specialists and LIIBA staff.
