NN Group international CEO steps down; successor hunt begins

Dutch insurance and asset management company NN Group's chief executive officer of international insurance, Robin Spencer is stepping down from his position, effective June 1, 2018.

As of July 01, Spencer will join Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA), a business unit of Prudential, as chief operating officer.

Spencer joined NN Group in August 2014 as a member of the management board and was appointed CEO international insurance in September of that year. In this role, he was responsible for NN's Insurance Europe, Japan Life, Japan Closed Block VA and NN Re businesses.

Prior to that, Spencer was CEO Aviva UK & Ireland General Insurance, CEO and chief financial officer Aviva Canada and from 2010 to 2012 Aviva group chief risk officer.

NN Group said that the selection process for a new CEO for the international insurance business has started.

Lard Friese, CEO of NN Group, said: "Robin has made a significant contribution to the development of our company. Under his leadership, our international businesses have been fundamentally strengthened, and his focus on innovation and building new distribution partnerships across markets has positioned our business units for future growth.
