Peak Re poaches Swiss Re head for its life and health business

Hong Kong-based reinsurer Peak Re has hired Christopher Lee as head of life and health to oversee its reinsurance business. He joins from Swiss Re.

Lee has 27 years of experience in life/health insurance and reinsurance in the Southeast Asia market.

Prior to this, he was the head of client markets for Southeast Asia at Swiss Re, and spent four years with Allianz Reinsurance. Lee has also worked for 15 years in life insurance companies, Prudential and AIA.

“Christopher is an experienced industry professional with an impressive track record in life and health reinsurance business,” said Franz-Josef Hahn, chief executive officer of Peak Re. “With his wealth of experience and knowledge, I am confident that Christopher will further strengthen our life and health book and broaden Peak Re’s long-term reinsurance offerings for our clients.”

Lee replaces Angela Koechli at Peak Re who has left to pursue other interests. “Angela has played an important role in laying the foundation of our life and health reinsurance business and structure. On behalf of the Company, I would like to express our gratitude to Angela for her contribution in building up and leading our life and health business. I wish her all the success in her future endeavours,” Hahn added.
