Prudential could leave London headquarters over Solvency II
Prudential has hinted that it may move its headquarters from London as a result of the new Solvency II regime.
In a statement the insurer has said it ‘regularly reviews its range of options to maximise the strategic flexibility of the group’ and that this includes ‘consideration of optimising the Group's domicile, including as a possible response to an adverse outcome on Solvency II.’
The insurer also pointed out that there continues to be ‘uncertainty’ in relation to the implementation of Solvency II and implications for the Group's businesses and that clarity on this issue is not expected ‘in the near term.’
