Skyline plucks market vet with AXA/AIG pedigree for Continental Europe

Parametric insurance underwriting agency  Skyline Partners has tapped a market veteran with AXA, AIG and Allianz pedigree to support its growth in Continental Europe.

Skyline has appointed Christophe Neves (pictured) to serve as its Continental European representative. Based in Paris, he will be focussed on business development and client relations.

Neves began his career at AXA and AIG Europe, then moved to Allianz Worldwide Partners, where he was group actuarial and underwriting services director. In 2016, he ventured into insuretchs and became CEO and co-founder of digital platform Yakman. Neves joined AIG Europe in 2018 as chief risk officer and in 2020 joined Wakam as COO risk and capital. Neves recently launched InsurtechStudio, which supports startups in the process of product development.

Laurent Sabatié, Skyline Partners’ co-founder and executive director, said: It is terrific to have an individual of Christophe’s stature supporting Skyline’s continued growth. Christophe’s wide connections in the continental insurance sector, his deep understanding of insurance product development, and his broad leadership experience in the entrepreneurial environment of insurTech will be a huge asset for Skyline as we grow.”

Skyline co-founder and executive director Gethin Jones, added: “Now that we have live insurance products with a range of partners and clients in the UK, US, Caribbean, and on the continent, demand is multiplying for our services as the parametric catalyser. Christophe promises to be an enormously valuable resource as we grow the company and the global market for parametric insurance solutions.”

Neves commented: “I am excited to support Skyline in their work to transform data and ideas into practical insurance products. Without them, only the largest brokers, reinsurers, and a handful of specialists have had the resources to create, operate, and market viable parametric products, but Skyline’s services allow anyone to launch a parametric insurance solution. I look forward to showing colleagues old and new how Skyline can create and manage innovative new products on their behalf.”
