Tasker reshuffles retail broking leadership; seeks growth through selective acquisitions

Tasker Insurance Group has appointed Robin Thomson as managing director of its retail broking business, succeeding Ann Bowyer.

Bowyer will remain as a group executive with more focused responsibilities for markets, placement and learning & development.

Thomson will focus on organic as well as accelerated growth through selective acquisitions and the establishment of a broader regional broking business and management team.

Thomson joins with over 30 years’ industry experience having held a number of leadership roles within the UK insurance market including Layton Blackham, Bluefin Insurance and, most recently, Clear Insurance. Tasker said he has extensive experience in leading a multi-site retail broking business, driving organic growth and executing and integrating acquisitions.

Tasker CEO Robert Organ said: “I am delighted to welcome Robin to the business, he is well connected right across the broking sector and, having worked with him for some time, I know he is well respected and trusted by others in the industry. This makes him ideally placed to support us in our ambition to continue to grow through recruiting great people and acquiring successful businesses.”

Thomson commented: “I am joining the Tasker Insurance Group at a really exciting time. I can see that the business provides the perfect platform for growth and knowing Rob for a number of years, having worked together at Bluefin, I am delighted to have the opportunity to be part of the team and contribute to the ambitious plans.”
