TigerRisk taps RenRe/Guy Carpenter exec for top global casualty role
Reinsurance broker TigerRisk Partners has tapped “one of the most experienced and capable professionals in the casualty world” as it looks to capture major growth opportunities in the sector. The executive comes from RenRe, having previously worked at broker Guy Carpenter.
Josh Everdell joins TigerRisk as global head of casualty and head of global accounts.
Everdell, who will report to Tim Ronda and be based in Stamford, Connecticut, specialises in casualty reinsurance treaty placements and will be responsible for leading and growing TigerRisk’s global casualty business.
Everdell has more than 20 years’ experience in underwriting and broking in US casualty, and comes to TigerRisk from RenaissanceRe where he was head of US casualty and specialty, responsible for the management of the general casualty, professional liability and accident & health units.
Prior to that, he was the managing director of Guy Carpenter where he acted as an account executive handling casualty treaty placements and worked within the US casualty specialty practice advising the company’s casualty clients, prospects, and broking teams with strategic advice and tailored solutions.
Everdell started his career in insurance with Chubb & Son in 1993 as an underwriting trainee. He then became a corporate lawyer, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and corporate finance before moving to Guy Carpenter in 2002 to become a reinsurance broker.
“We are delighted to appoint Josh to lead our global casualty team,” said Rob Bredahl (pictured), chief executive officer at TigerRisk Partners. “ TigerRisk is committed to delivering world-class professionals and solutions to our clients. We see major growth opportunities in this space and Josh is one of the most experienced and capable professionals in the casualty world. He will be an integral part of our dynamic growth and his leadership will allow TigerRisk to take our casualty offering to the next level for our clients.”
Everdell commented: “ TigerRisk’s vision for building a strong culture, integrated platform and depth of experience is distinctive and something I have admired. In the marketplace today solving problems for clients is becoming more complex and there is much opportunity for creativity and innovation.
“I have experienced superior client service at RenaissanceRe and I look forward to being a part of the Tiger team, working alongside senior leadership to capitalize on market opportunities and help our clients succeed.”
