Tokio Marine appoints new CEO of ProAg following transition

Tokio Marine HCC's crop insurance unit Producers Ag Insurance Group (ProAg) has announced that its president and CEO Michael Connealy will transition to chairman of the board, with effect from June 30, 2017 until his retirement in the second quarter of 2018.

Connealy will be succeeded by Kendall Jones, currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Connealy is retiring after 11 years at ProAg.

"May 16, 2017 will be exactly 40 years since starting my first job in the insurance business out of college," he said.

Jones joined ProAg in 2006 as executive vice president alongside Connealy, after spending time in diverse roles in the crop insurance industry at Norwest Corporation and Rural Community Insurance Services.

"Kendall is as prepared to lead this company as any chief executive in our history," Connealy added.

Chris Williams, Tokio Marine HCC’s CEO, said: "When we acquired ProAg in 2015, the strength and experience of the management team and a solid succession plan were key attributes of the transaction.

"Mike has guided ProAg through two successful years following the transaction, with excellent prospects for 2017. We look forward to working alongside Mike and Kendall on this transition and then fully supporting Kendall as she leads ProAg forward."
