Prior to that, he was the head of casualty for its commercial business in Hong Kong.

Before joining Zurich Insurance, MacCarthy worked at Marsh in Hong Kong and Australia for 10 years. He started his insurance career at Liberty International where he spent five years in the casualty affinity team in Brisbane, Australia.

Ward said: “We are pleased with Ben joining our casualty team in Asia. Together with his strong track record and WTW’s Global P&C structure, we are confident that Ben will drive and strengthen our casualty capabilities here in Asia.”

Luke Ware, head of Corporate Risk and Broking Asia, added: “Casualty risks are constantly evolving and growing in number, scope and complexity. With his background and knowledge, Ben is well positioned to take this key aspect of our business forward, delivering innovative casualty solutions to help protect our clients’ bottom line.
