Willis Towers Watson looks to Fairfax for new head of surety for UK and Europe

Broker  Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has hired a new head of surety for Europe and the UK from Fairfax-owned insurer Crum & Forster.

Steve Powney was previously head of international surety at Crum & Foster and has led surety operations for Asia, Europe and the Middle East with responsibilities including underwriting, production and operational excellence.

In his new role, Powney will report to Scott Hull, global head of surety at Willis Towers Watson, who said: “This is a significant growth area for Willis Towers Watson and today’s appointment will help develop our sales and client management strategy across Europe and the UK.”
