WTW draws Aon market leader for key US strategy role

Global broker  WTW has plucked a senior leader from rival Aon to spearhead its corporate risk and broking growth strategy and performance in the US Northeast.

Jay Sharma (pictured) joins WTW as Northeast strategy & execution leader, corporate risk and broking (CRB), North America.

With over 10 years of leadership experience in the US and abroad in the insurance industry, Sharma is set to lead the implementation of CRB's growth strategy and performance in the Northeast Region. He will be responsible for defining and executing the organisation's strategy, setting service expectations, measuring results, and working with the industry division teams to develop innovative, risk-mitigated solutions.

Sharma has recently come from Aon, where he was managing director and market leader for Aon CT, and was responsible for substantial revenue and margin increases for the region. Before Aon, Sharma was chief executive officer of Marsh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"Jay's exceptional track record in building revenue, fostering diversity, and demonstrating outstanding leadership skills speaks for itself," remarked Michael Chang, head of CRB North America, WTW. "His proven ability to drive growth while prioritising team performance and inclusivity makes him an invaluable addition to the team. I am confident that Jay's unique perspective and approach will elevate our client experience and retention efforts across the business, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team."
