WTW makes key captives hire from rival Marsh

Global broker  WTW (formerly  Willis Towers Watson), has hired a senior executive from rival Marsh appointed to head up its captive management operations in Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Lawrence Bird will join WTW’s Global Captive practice executive leadership team. He will report to practice head Peter Carter.

Bird has been in insurance for 35 years including 23 years in captive and insurance management based in Guernsey and then in Bermuda for 16 years where he headed Marsh’s captive operations.

Carter, Head of Global Captives, WTW, said: “We are delighted that Lawrence will be joining us. His experience and insights will be critical in helping us realise the opportunity in this strategically important region for us.”
