Late hurricanes to keep reinsurance rates elevated, analysts predict

Losses from Hurricanes Milton and Helene will prevent the kind of strong returns seen in 2023, when there were fewer North Atlantic hurricane claims. As a result, reinsurers are now under less pressure to reduce prices and offer “more generous” terms, given the rise in natural catastrophe losses caused by these late summer storms.
