Miller expands facultative force with senior Guy Carp/Aon/WTW talent
Specialist re/insurance broker Miller has bolstered its facultative reinsurance unit with a senior hire poached from Guy Carpenter.
The executive began his broking career at Aon before transitioning to facultative reinsurance at Willis Towers Watson.
Miller has appointed Ollie Spells as head of London property facultative within its global facultative team.
Spells specialises in providing complex facultative reinsurance coverages for UK and global property business. He joins from Guy Carpenter where he was a senior producer within UK facultative property. Ollie began his broking career at Aon, before moving across to facultative reinsurance at WTW.
The new hire follows that of Will Morgan as head of energy and fac, as Miller continues to expand its global facultative team by geography and product line.
Damian Richards, head of London facultative reinsurance, said: “We are delighted that Ollie has chosen to join Miller. His strong technical knowledge of UK Facultative Property placements and significant analytical ability in broking analysis for complex risks will be a great asset to the team. I look forward to having him on board as we continue to grow our reinsurance footprint.”
Spells commented: “I am excited to be joining Miller and supporting an excellent and growing team. Miller is seen as a trusted and strategic partner, with the ability to provide truly tailored solutions to clients. I look forward to working with the team as they continue to diversify across a range of industries, territories, and classes.”
