ACORD adds Lloyd's and Aon leaders to advisory group

ACORD, the global standards-setting body for the insurance industry, has appointed two new members to its London advisory board from Aon and Lloyd's.

Lloyd’s chief data officer Simon Asplen-Taylor and Aon chief operating officer Matt Unsworth will join the advisory group alongside other London insurance market leaders.

The group, which meets in London on a regular basis, is comprised of senior representatives from the major London Market associations and the broker and carrier community.

Formed earlier in 2020, the group’s goals are to align London Market initiatives with the global ACORD Data Standards, to increase adoption and leverage of ACORD assets, and to strengthen the impact and relevance of ACORD to its members’ interests.

“Our London Advisory Board plays a key role in identifying ways for the London Market to leverage ACORD’s standards and solutions, and to advance modernisation. We greatly value the insights and perspectives of our members, and are so pleased with the progress we’ve achieved this year,” said Chris Newman, ACORD’s managing director, global.

“Simon and Matt bring broad-ranging technology and insurance industry expertise from market-leading organizations and as such, will be invaluable contributors to this process. We’re excited to welcome both of them and truly appreciate their participation,” he added.
