Aon Benfield appoints CEO of Fac division

Reinsurance broker Aon Benfield has appointed Andrew Laing as chief executive officer (CEO) of Aon Benfield Fac, the firm’s facultative reinsurance division.

Laing will be responsible for all facultative reinsurance across Aon’s Risk business – which includes both Aon Benfield and Aon Risk Solutions. He most recently served as chief broking officer of Aon Risk Solutions’ global broking centre in London, where he focused on leading the implementation of key broking strategies and improved strategic carrier engagement, bespoke broking and structured portfolio solutions.

Laing began his career at CE Heath Insurance Brokers and has nearly 30 years’ experience in the London and international wholesale markets. Laing will report to Eric Andersen, CEO of Aon Benfield, and become a member of the Aon Benfield executive committee.

“Andrew will work with the leadership of both Aon Benfield and Aon Risk Solutions to maximise the impact of teamwork across the firm, developing innovative and world class solutions for our facultative clients,” said Andersen.
