Arch Re replaces Canadian CEO with Aon Benfield executive

Arch Reinsurance Company has appointed François Dagneau to the position of chief executive officer (CEO) of its Canadian operations.

Dagneau will replace Patrick McGuiness, who is retiring from Arch.

Dagneau joins Arch Reinsurance Company’s Canadian operations with more than 25 years of experience, most recently at Aon Benfield in Canada.

In addition, Rhonda Harvey, who has been with the company in Canada since 2011 will assume the role of chief agent of the branch going forward, in addition to her current responsibilities as chief underwriting officer, reporting to Dagneau.

Jerome Halgan, president and chief executive officer of Arch Re, said: "We are thrilled to have François joining our team given his depth and breadth of experience. He has a deep knowledge of the Canadian reinsurance market, executive management experience, as well as a strong background in both underwriting and analytics."
