ArgoGlobal hires yacht underwriter from Endurance

ArgoGlobal, a Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, has appointed Karen Montellier as yacht underwriter. He will report to hull and yacht class underwriter Michael Thompson.

Montellier joins ArgoGlobal from Endurance at Lloyd’s where she served as a marine underwriter, responsible for underwriting a global yacht portfolio. Prior to that, she held the role of assistant hull and liability underwriter at Swiss Re.

Thompson said: "Our yacht portfolio is a key line of business for ArgoGlobal, and we are committed to expanding our presence in areas where technical expertise and specialist underwriting act as a differentiator.

"Karen is a highly experienced underwriter with a proven ability to develop profitable books of business and an established network of close broker relationships. By continuing to recruit underwriters of Karen’s calibre to complement our existing expertise, I am confident we will realise our ambitions in this sector.
