Ascot MGA Ethos appoints new CEO

Ascot Group’s US managing general agent (MGA) platform Ethos Specialty Insurance Services has appointed Rory Cline as its new president and CEO.

Cline is currently the chief underwriting officer (CUO), having joined Ethos Specialty at inception in 2017. Prior to this, he served as president of Ascot Specialty US, a position he held since 2009. In his 35-year-career, Cline has held a number of senior management positions in both primary insurance and reinsurance including being the founding CEO of MGU, DirectFac, in 2004.

Cline will report in to Jerry Tegan, who has recently taken on a wider Ascot Group role as executive chairman US.

Andrew Brooks, Ascot Group CEO, commented: “Rory has been a long-standing employee of Ascot and understands our values and the culture we have. Since joining Ethos at its foundation last year, he and the team have done an excellent job taking the company from a start-up MGU platform to a serious player in the market – he’s the right person to lead them in to their next phase of development. I look forward to Rory being an essential part of Jerry Tegan’s team in growing Ascot Group in the US.”
