Aston Lark brings another Irish business into Howden fold

Continuing its rapid expansion in Ireland,  Aston Lark has brought another insurance broker into the  Howden fold via acquisition, as it looks to further expand its geographical footprint and scale the business to access new markets and sectors.

Aston Lark Ireland has agreed to acquire William Lyons Insurances and wholly owned subsidiary JC Daly Insurances. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval.

William Lyons Insurances is a long-established, second-generation family-run insurance brokerage based in Castleisland, County Kerry, serving customers in the south-west region of Ireland since 1952.

In 2004, William Lyons Insurances acquired JC Daly Insurances, broadening their geographical footprint with an office in Abbeyfeale, County Limerick. Today, they continue to operate out of both offices, providing bespoke solutions to individuals and businesses and offering a full range of commercial and personal insurances as well as life, pensions and investment products.

The two companies have been trading for over 70 years.

Robert Kennedy, Aston Lark Ireland CEO, said: “I’m delighted that we have attracted another terrific business to the Aston Lark and Howden family. I’d like to welcome Mary, Denny and everyone at William Lyons Insurances and J.C. Daly Insurances into the fold. They have built a strong business with a loyal customer base and are at the very pinnacle of high-quality advice and service, fitting perfectly with Aston Lark’s ethos of care for our clients.

“Geographically, this acquisition is also an excellent fit for Aston Lark, giving us our first presence in Kerry and Limerick. Our ambition is to continue our incredible growth journey to scale the business and support our clients with access to new markets and sectors. We also look forward to supporting our new colleagues with their continued development and growth.”

Co-owners of William Lyons Insurances and JC Daly Insurances, director Mary Lyons and managing director Denny Lyons, added: “As a family-run and operated business, a lot of thought went into deciding to join a larger organisation like Aston Lark. It was most important to us that they were, and are, on the same wavelength about the absolute need to put our customers first and foremost, whilst maintaining the necessary level of personal service upon which our business has flourished. In other words, to help us continue to offer the same level of service and professionalism to our customers, ensuring business as usual.

“We couldn’t be more excited to join Aston Lark as they encapsulate what we were looking for, sharing our core values and ethos with passion for their people and customers. We believe this is the best fit for our business going forward as Aston Lark will provide our customers with access to more markets and services and afford our loyal staff excellent career opportunities for the future.”
