BMS builds out financial lines practice with Tysers talent

Specialist re/insurance broker  BMS has tapped a senior executive from Tysers to build out its financial lines practice in North America.

Elizabeth Robinson has been appointed as a director in financial lines, effective July 2022. Based in London, she will report to Chris Madell, managing director of financial and professional lines at BMS.

Robinson joins BMS from Tysers where she spent more than five years, most recently as director of North American executive and financial risks. In her role, she managed the company’s growing team and portfolio in directors and officers and financial institutions, primarily in North America and Europe.

At BMS, Robinson will be responsible for managing BMS’ North American wholesale financial lines strategy.

Robinson has worked within the insurance industry for more than 12 years, having begun her career in the sector as a financial lines underwriter at AIG in 2009. She has held a broad range of senior roles on both the broking and underwriting side, including AXA and independent brokering firms.

Madell said: “Liz has a diverse range of experience in our industry and it’s especially fantastic to be able to welcome such a talented individual to the BMS team. Her deep understanding of the market will be an incredible asset to BMS as we continue to expand our North American wholesale financial lines offering.”

Robinson added: “ BMS’ client-centred strategy and demonstrated commitment to innovation and investing in the business has always appealed to me. The financial lines team is brilliant at what they do and working with them feels like a natural cultural fit for me. I look forward to using my expertise and experience to support their continued growth.”
