Brit boosts LatAm team with Swiss Re exec
Specialty re/insurer Brit has appointed Guillermo Eslava as vice president of casualty reinsurance as it strengthens its Miami-based Latin America business.
Eslava will focus on creating a casualty treaty and facultative portfolio in the Latin America and Caribbean region and will report to Juan Calvache, senior vice president of Brit Global Specialty USA.
Prior to joining Brit, Eslava served as treaty and facultative regional manager at Swiss Re with responsibility for Latin America.
Calvache said: “We are very pleased to add Guillermo to the team in Miami. With his underwriting and legal expertise coupled with his excellent client relationships, we expect he will make a significant contribution to the development of our growing platform and Brit’s presence in the region.”
Nick Davies, president of Brit Global Specialty Americas, added: “This further strengthening of our Latin American business demonstrates our commitment to building out our Miami based hub around underwriting expertise and service.
