CGSC strengthens its global HR offering

Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford, the wholesale and reinsurance broker, has appointed Roanne Gibbs as human resources director for Europe Middle East and Asia.

Based in London and reporting to Stuart Boyne, global head of HR, Gibbs will be responsible for rolling out an enhanced HR platform across all CGSC offices outside the Americas.

Gibbs has been HR director for Cooper Gay UK for the last ten years. Following CGSC’s acquisition of Newman Martin and Buchan in 2013, Gibbs became HR director for the joint London operation.

She subsequently drove the HR programme for the integration and led both company’s HR teams to plan, deliver and manage the requirements and challenges of bringing together two workforces. Gibbs and her team will continue to provide this support in London.

Prior to joining Cooper Gay in 2004, Gibbs was HR & training officer at Assicurazioni Generali in London and previously HR adviser for Allianz Cornhill.

Toby Esser, CGSC Group chief executive officer, said: “As an acquisitive business one of the challenges we face is integrating each new business that comes under the CGSC umbrella.  It is our people who make our business and a first class HR function is absolutely key to our strategy of acquisition, integration and development.

“Roanne has done an excellent job over the last ten years as Cooper Gay London has grown and has extensive experience of both our group and of developing and establishing a successful HR platform. I am very pleased she has agreed to take on this wider role as we continue to grow as a business and strengthen our CGSC group culture.”

Boyne said: “Roanne’s wider role will strengthen our global HR function as we aim to deliver the highest standard of HR support across the wider CGSC group. Supporting, managing and developing our existing staff and attracting high calibre candidates to join the CGSC team is essential to the success of our business. Roanne will be delivering the means to offer this higher level of support outside the central HR hubs of the UK and the US.”
