CGSC unites London brokerage businesses

Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC) is set to unite all of its London market business under the name CGNMB.

From January 1, 2015, the new brand will combine Lloyd’s brokers Cooper Gay & Company and Newman Martin and Buchan LLP (NMB).

Gordon Newman, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cooper Gay & Company and NMB, said: “During the course of 2014 we have been working to bring Cooper Gay and NMB together and merging the two brands is a natural next step for us to take.

“We will be writing to our clients to explain in more detail how we are bringing this change about. I believe that the new name reflects the successful integration of the two predecessor businesses and we are all looking forward to being part of one business with one identity.”

Toby Esser, CEO of the CGSC Group, said: “I am extremely proud that as we approach Cooper Gay’s 50th anniversary, our London broking business has evolved to incorporate the best of what have been two very successful individual businesses across reinsurance, specialty and wholesale lines.  CGNMB will be approaching 2015 with a new name, but the same dedication to client service and delivery of excellent results.”
