Lloyd’s insurer Chaucer has appointed Penny Shaw as risk director of Chaucer Syndicates, Chaucer’s Lloyd’s managing agency and main operational subsidiary.
Shaw joins from Hiscox where she was group chief risk officer. Before this, she was with ACE European Group for ten years, most recently as head of risk management & capital.
Shaw will be responsible for the further development and implementation of Chaucer’s risk management strategy, with a focus on ensuring continuous first class risk management capabilities, in particular for underwriting risk, said the insure.
She will assume ownership and direction of Chaucer’s enterprise risk management framework and activities.
Bob Stuchbery, chief executive officer of Chaucer, said: “Penny is an outstanding risk director with an exceptional track record of risk management excellence within the insurance industry. First class risk management is critical to our underwriting success and I look forward to working closely with Penny on the development of our risk framework”.
