Chubb appoints ex-AIG/AmTrust hire to lead financial lines business in UKISA

Property/casualty insurer  Chubb has appointed a new financial lines manager for the UK, Ireland and South Africa (UKISA).

Janet Edey (pictured) will take over the responsibility of managing and developing the growth of Chubb's financial lines business in UKISA. Based in London, she will report to and succeed Hilda Toh who was recently appointed P&C chief underwriting officer for UKISA.

Edey was previously management liability manager, financial lines for UKISA, where she led a portfolio of directors' and officers' liability, pension trustee liability, employment practices liability, crime, initial public offering liability and kidnap and ransom.

Edey has more than 30 years of industry and underwriting experience in various senior management and leadership roles within professional and financial lines. She joined Chubb in 2018 from AmTrust where she served as head of professional lines, responsible for the strategic direction of two syndicates. Prior to that, Edey was head of specialty at Pen Underwriting where she developed and grew the financial lines and specialty division within the MGA. She was also underwriting manager at HCC and spent 15 years at AIG in various senior management and leadership roles.

Her leadership skills, experience and understanding of this crucial line of business have been built over many years. Janet's knowledge will be fundamental to help us continue to manage and grow our book and also to help understand the many challenges faced by our clients."
