Generali poaches head of German property underwriting from Swiss Re

Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has named Marc Wekkeli as its new head of property underwriting in Germany.

Wekkeli has 25 years of international insurance experience and has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility at Swiss Re in Germany, the US, Singapore and Australia.

He will take up his position on June 7, reporting to Hans-Peter Klebe, head of GC&C Germany. He assumes responsibility for ensuring technical excellence and profitability of the German property portfolio.

Klebe said the appointment demonstrates Generali’s commitment to ensuring profitability in the German market, highlighting Wekkeli’s “wealth of knowledge of the insurance industry and a vast international experience.”
