GIC Re appoints MD

Indian reinsurer GIC Re has appointed K Sanath Kumar as acting chairman and managing director.

Kumar previously served as general manager and director of New Indian Assurance Company. In 2012, he was nominated to the board of directors.

In the past, Kumar has also served as general manager of United India.
