Guy Carpenter taps Aon managing director for UK non-marine unit
Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), has appointed Richard Carver as managing director and senior broker in the firm’s UK non-marine division.
Based in London, Carver will report to James Boyce, deputy CEO, global specialties.
Carver has over 30 years of experience in the reinsurance sector, spanning both the underwriting and broking arenas. Most recently he was a managing director at Aon, having worked at the firm for over 15 years both in London and Bermuda. Previously, he was also reinsurance underwriting director at Brit and active underwriter at St Paul at Lloyd’s Syndicate 314, underwriting both property and casualty reinsurance classes.
Commenting on the appointment, Boyce said: “Richard’s expertise covers many components of the industry, spanning different lines of business in the broking and underwriting sectors in both the London and Bermuda markets. During his career, he has become a highly respected market practitioner and will be a fantastic addition to our non-marine specialty team.”
Kevin Fisher, president of global specialties, added: “The breadth of experience and market understanding that Richard has developed over the last 30 years positions him extremely well to help guide our UK non-marine team to greater success. We will continue to focus on bolstering our teams with this calibre of professional.”
