JLT Re appoints Miami head
Reinsurance broker JLT Re has appointed Alison Wham as head of its Miami operation from October.
Wham currently serves as chairman of property, casualty, mining and power at JLT Specialty. She has over 30 years of industry experience, joining the JLT Group in 2003 having previously held positions at Arthur J Gallagher, Bain Hogg International and PWS Group.
Mike Reynolds, global chief executive officer of JLT Re, said: “Alison’s extensive knowledge and experience of working in Latin America and in Miami combined with the key roles she has held at JLT make her an excellent choice for this position.
“Her reputation with clients and colleagues is exceptional. Alison has a deep understanding of the issues and drivers in the regions and how they relate to insurance and reinsurance. I expect her dynamic leadership to support our on-going focus on expanding our platform in Miami.”
Wham added: "This exciting opportunity is a natural extension of my work to date within JLT and Latin America. I look forward to building on the excellent relationships I already have with many of my new colleagues in the Miami office. I am intent on supporting our reputation as market leaders as we continue to expand our platform in the region."
