JLT Re poaches Cooper Gay execs

JLT Re in Asia-Pacific has made two appointments to build out its programme and facility capabilities in Australia.

Jon Calverley has been appointed as a director and Paul Steiner has been appointed as an associate director.

Both Calverley and Steiner join the firm from Cooper Gay where Calverley served as managing director for Australia having previously worked for JLT in both Sydney and London. Steiner previously served as senior wholesale broker and before that he worked for QBE.

“Jon and Paul will be focussed on developing our programme and facility strategy via their strong market relationship with independent brokers and MGA’s,” said Stuart Beatty, chief executive officer, JLT Re Asia-Pacific. “This compliments our developing business model in Australia and Asia very well.
