JLT Re poaches Guy Carpenter talent to head credit and surety

Reinsurance broker JLT Re, a subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, has appointed Guy Carpenter executive Scott MacColl as head of credit and surety for North America.

In addition to his role in North America, MacColl will be working closely with global teams to help build out this specialised practice area for JLT Re.

MacColl joins JLT Re with over 30 years of credit and surety experience, most recently at Guy Carpenter, where he was managing director for the surety specialty group. Prior to that, he was vice president at American Re (now Munich Re America), responsible for the surety, fidelity, trade credit, and political risk product lines.

Ed Hochberg, CEO JLT Re (North America), said: “We are thrilled to have Scott join JLT Re. His primary insurance, reinsurance, and broking experience, along with his involvement in North American and international markets, creates a unique knowledge base that will benefit existing and potential clients, and reinforces the strength of our global Credit and Surety team.”

MacColl added: “I am looking forward to joining JLT Re and collaborating with the team to build out the Credit and Surety risk management practice into the best in class intermediary, as recognized by insurers and risk management professionals.”
