JLT taps RSA, Guy Carp execs for global FAC expansion
Reinsurance broker JLT Re has hired senior executives from RSA and Guy Carpenter to expand JLT FAC, its facultative reinsurance division that focuses on property, construction and casualty.
In London, Nikki Melbourne will join the firm as a partner. She joins from RSA where she works as a senior underwriter. Before this she was underwriting at Allianz and Mapfre Global Risks. Melbourne has experience in both the London Market and Latin American (LatAm) region and will be a senior producer for development of UK, European and LatAm regional facultative business.
Joe Vitale will be joining JLT FAC as head of casualty based in the New York office. Vitale will also be responsible for leading further expansion in the region. He has over twenty years’ experience in the industry, most recently as senior vice president at Guy Carpenter. Prior to that, Vitale was senior vice president at Benfield heading up global facultative and casualty facultative business. Vitale is expected to join JLT FAC in August subject to contractual obligations.
Commenting on the appointments, Vanessa Macdonald-Smith, CEO of JLT FAC said: “This is the first step in a strategic global expansion plan for JLT FAC. Both Nikki and Joe will enhance the expertise of the team and increase the breadth of our offerings to the market. We expect to have a number of further hires across the US by the end of the year.”
