Lockton Re swoops on Aon to target 'lack of choice' in reinsurance broking

Lockton Re, the global reinsurance business of broker  Lockton, has hired an  Aon executive to further expand its speciality capabilities, targeting the complex political risk and credit class.

Eran Charit will join Lockton Re's specialty division later this year.

Charit has been in the political risk and credit insurance broking space for over 10 years, most recently as head of structured & capital solutions at Aon. Prior to that, he started his broking career at Gallagher.

"The market lacks choice and is looking for a genuine alternative reinsurance broking capability to challenge the status quo," said Paul Upton, head of the speciality division at Lockton Re. "We are excited to provide that through a unique combination of a deep technical understanding of political risk and credit exposures, reinsurance expertise and the support of our powerful structuring and modelling capabilities.”
